In Spring 2023, KAMA Philanthropic Fund awarded over $103,000 medical and nursing scholarships and as donations to the community.

A new medical scholarship endowment was established for the nursing program at the Pellissippi State Community College.

Funds were awarded to support the KAMA scholarship endowments at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, University of Tennessee College of Nursing, Tennessee Wesleyan University Fort Sanders Nursing School, and Quillen College of Medicine.

Funds for additional medical and nursing scholarships were awarded to University of Tennessee Health Science Center, University of Tennessee College of Nursing, Tennessee Wesleyan University Fort Sanders Nursing School, Lincoln Memorial University Caylor School of Nursing, and Pellissippi State Community College Nursing Program.

Recipients of KAMA Philanthropic Health Grants include Family Justice Center, Interfaith Health Clinic, K.A.P.A., Metro Drug Coalition, and the St. Mary's Legacy Clinic.

Through our Health Promotions committee, the Philanthropic Fund also sponsored programs through partnerships in our community. The KAMA Medication Safety Task Force partnered with the Metro Drug Coalition to support The Gateway and to teach the Generation Rx education program regarding the safe use of antibiotics, safe disposal of medications and efforts against opioid misuse. We increased our support through donations of supplies and educational materials to the Vine School Health Center and the Family Justice Center.
